Dr Joe Dispenza is an international author and researcher. He is passionate about the findings from studies of neuroscience, epigenetics, and quantum physics. He has authoured several books but his most recent books, Becoming Supernatural and Breaking The Habit Of Being Yourself explores how we can intentionally change our brain chemistry to experience a healthier mind, body and spiritual life.  Dr Joe advocates that “where you place your attention is where you place your energy”. He firmly believes that if we get into the habit of grounding ourselves in the positive feelings and emotions of gratitude and freedom which we hope to feel in the future that we will then begin to manifest a life that propels us into experiencing a life of gratitude joy and freedom.

Dr Joe is encouraging us to ground ourselves in our future positive emotions rather than our past negative emotions. If we make the conscious choice to remain grounded in our positive emotions then we really can heal our mind body and soul and start living the life our hearts truly desire.

Essentially Dr Joe is teaching us that we create our realities with our thoughts and mindset, this teaching is nothing new though and comes from a school of thought also advocated by philosophers from past such as Napolean Hill and Neville Goddard. These  various teachings also support what is commonly referred to as The Law of Attraction.

In his book “Think And Grow Rich” first published in 1937 , Napolean Hill  tells us “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” and “If you do not see riches in your imagination, you will never see them in your bank balance.”

Neville Goddard tells us “All you can possibly need or desire is already yours. Call your desires into being by imagining and feeling your wish fulfilled”  and “A change of circumstance happens as a result of a change in your state of consciousness.”

Dr. Joe Dispenza in his book, Breaking The Habit of Being Yourself  (How to Lose Your Mind and Create a New One), implores us to reassemble our mindset for a better life.  In this book we learn that recent advancements in  neuroscience and epigenetics provide compelling evidence that every time we experience a thought or feeling, it triggers a chain reaction of neural activity in our brains. As we think and feel, our brain wires itself in a pattern that creates neural pathways that define our beliefs and habits. Research shows that anxiety, stress and other negative emotions can hugely impact our physical health. On the other hand positive thoughts and feelings can boost our immune system and improve our well being.

Useful suggestions from the book include:

  • Become aware of our limiting (negative) thoughts and beliefs.
  • Set more empowering beliefs about yourself
  • Focus only on the things we want and never on what we don’t want.
  • Focus on the things in our lives that we are grateful for.
  • Engage in positive visualisation – Imagine yourself in the reality you desire together with all the emotions, feelings and experiences you desire. When you do this you send a clear message to your brain about what you want and so your brain responds by making it a reality.
  • Meditate daily; Meditation increases self awareness and helps to reduce anxiety and stress. It provides us with an opportunity to rewire our brains, creating new neural connections which will have a positive impact on our lives.

In his book, Becoming Supernatural (How Common People Are Doing The Uncommon) Dr. Joe helps us to understand that we can break free from destructive and negative thought patterns by using meditation and visualisation  to create a new reality and manifest our desires. His teachings are based on the premise that our experiences are the result of  deeply embedded patterns of thought and emotions that ultimately trap us in cycles of negativity.

Points to note from the book include:

  • The mind and body are intimately connected, and what we think and feel affects every cell in our body.
  • The moment we start to feel better about ourselves, we start attracting better experiences into our lives.
  • We all have the power to change our lives, but it starts with changing our thoughts.
  • The thoughts we think send out a specific vibration to the universe.
  • When we feel good, we are in alignment with the quantum field and are able to attract positive experiences into our lives.
  • To change is to think greater than your environment.

  • The more we can feel gratitude for what we already have, the more we open up to receive  even more.
  • The quantum field represents not what we want, but to who we are being.

  • By changing our energy, we have the power to heal our body, manifest our dreams, and create a life beyond our wildest imagination.
  • When we take control of guiding our thoughts and feelings, we become a creator of our experiences.

The essence of Dr. Joe Dispenza’s teachings are that one of the best things that we can do in life is to focus on all the positives in our lives both those that we have now and also the the things that we hope to achieve. Once we are focused on the positives and begin to express gratitude ( even for the things that are hoped for) it shifts our energy and it literally shifts the quantum field around us in our favour.

      Both Joe Dispenza and Napoleon Hill had explored and written extensively on the power of the mind in shaping reality .
